Industrial floor coatings

Epoxy, polyurethane and other coatings that seal and protect concrete floors.

Thin floor coatings, typically a few hundred microns thick, are the cheapest way to seal dusty concrete, make it easier to clean and add colour. They suit light to medium traffic.

Polyurethane coatings handle UV and abrasion better than many epoxies. Epoxy coatings are hard and chemical-resistant. Heavier traffic usually calls for a thicker screed rather than a coating.

Whatever the coating, preparation (grinding or shot-blasting, then moisture testing) usually matters more than the product.

Frequently asked questions

Coating or screed?

Coatings suit light to medium traffic. Heavy forklift use, impact or thermal shock usually needs a thicker resin screed. A site survey settles it.

How long before we can use the floor?

Cure times vary by product and temperature. Fast-cure systems such as MMA can be ready within hours, so ask each contractor.
